Devlog #10 (July 31 - August 7)


In the final week, we finished polishing the game and made the game trailer. Main additions were grass and billboard textures, new building assets, level progress directions, finalising the colour code and including the new sfx for wall break, wrench deploy, running and lose life. Also added a mechanic where 2 pressure plates break a wall to improve player coordination and improvement and bug fixes to preexisting mechanics.


Kushagra - This week i primarily fixed bugs and improved the general flow of the game. My tasks included: (1) made cutscenes skippable (2)  fixed UI anchoring (3) added distance to wrench indicator (4) Helped Camden with sounds to use for new sfx (5) Kept track of everyones branches and merged them form time to time as per need (6) Helping Owen with making the final builds and the game trailer.

Cathy - This week, I implemented a new but small mechanic: the pressure plates. If both players stand on two pressure plates, the corresponding door or wall will be destroyed, allowing the players to proceed. This new feature can be added to the final version of the game to add variety in puzzle-solving and to prevent players from going too far ahead of their partners.


Ethan - This week I implemented and coded box triggers to transition between music parameters I created a while back. This gives you a sense of progression as the music changes through your explorations and helps avoid listener fatigue.
